This is our three-step methodology and approach that secures results. You can stay with us for the whole process, or ask us to help solve a particular issue:

  • We like to start by asking you where you think you are. What’s worked and what hasn’t. What are your ambitions and goals, and where do you think you are in the process. What practical considerations do we need to factor in e.g. budget, resources, time etc.

    We can start from scratch. Or we can unpick complexity and problems with an existing project or operation.

    Some of our approaches have been:

    • Reviewing charity operations, working with senior leadership to implement change and best practice.

    • Evaluating an existing fundraising programme in order to make the best recommendations and assess ‘fit for purpose’.

    • Undertaking a practical audit of income streams, including fundraising, by deep-diving data sets, which inform performance to date and indicate the best ways forwards.

    • Strategically analysing a development operation in order to plan a major campaign, appeal, or other initiative.

    • Assessing general strategic & operational activity, and giving on-going advice/support.

  • We like working with our clients to provide them with realistic and practical tools to fulfil their ambitions. Whether it’s creating a coherent work plan, proposing a revised operating structure, aligning a fundraising strategy, or developing a roadmap, everything we do is bespoke to you and your organisation.

    We have:

    • Developed fully-strategic and segmented donor journeys to help build and maintain successful and long-term relationships, and donation income.

    • Devised complete fundraising programmes from scratch, either as new function, or as a relaunch.

    • Created effective and meaningful alumni & supporter engagement programmes.

    • Produced effective and realistic feasibility studies and action plans to support anniversaries, capital & endowment campaigns, and large appeals.

    • Recommended ways to develop new and/or reinvigorate existing fundraising operations.

    • Ensured fundraising & other income streams operate successfully and integrate properly with other parts of the business/organisation.

    • Designed appropriate fundraising frameworks, cases for support, KPIs etc. to allow development professionals to do their jobs and hit their targets.

    • Created sustainable, long-term, regular/individual giving programmes that really see year-on-year results, based directly on organisational data findings.

    • Developed effective, long-term and most-importantly dynamic stewardship programmes for donors, supporters and benefactors.

  • We also like to help you with the ‘can do’. We’re not just here to give you a report, or analyse your data. We can support you with the practical stuff, from database implementation, to recruitment, and from covering staffing gaps, to being on the end of the phone for advice. It gives us immense pleasure to see our clients succeed.

    Here’s some of our practical work.

    • Delivering an action plan to support the launch of an international alumni / supporter programme.

    • Implementing a strategic legacy programme.

    • Training board members, trustees, and governors on their role in fundraising and income generation.

    • Providing regular check-ins and clinics for development and other external-facing teams to advise and evaluate on their activities and progress

    • Offering director-level interim support/cover for senior roles (outside IR35)

    • Implementing and building fundraising culture and supporting resources across complex, multi-institutional organisation e.g. multi-academy trusts
